What is the procedure for treatment under laughing gas sedation?

Checking the blood pressure
Before treatment, we first measure the patient's blood pressure. We put on a pulse oximeter so that we can regularly check the pulse and the oxygen saturation of the blood during the treatment.
Induction of sedation via a nasal mask
A mask that is optimally suited for the patient is selected and applied. A mixture of laughing gas and oxygen is now administered to the patient via this mask. Initially, the laughing gas concentration is gradually increased and checked until the full effect is achieved.
Treatment & elimination
When the patient feels relaxed, the actual dental treatment takes place. When finished, the nitrous oxide level is adjusted down and the patient is ventilated with pure oxygen for a few more minutes to make sure that all nitrous oxide has been exhaled. When the patient feels ready, they are allowed to get up and leave the practice.
